During the CES conference on Monday, Sony announced the numbers of current PlayStation players, and it is record breaking. As of December 2023, there are 123 million monthly active players on the PlayStation 3, 4, and 5. That is higher than ever recorded, and a pretty solid increase from the 112 million reported in December of 2022.
This is following the news that Sony’s PS5 had sold over 50 million units just last month as well. It’s also a really good sign of the increase in gaming’s inclusion in the zeitgeist. With it being reported that Sony has outsold Microsoft in this current console generation, things are looking pretty good for the tech giant. Their partnership with Honda helps solidify that fact, as their new EV was just unveiled at the same event, being driven by an actual PS5 controller. We are definitely living in the future.
