Today, Capcom announced that, a year since its release, Resident Evil 4 Remake has surpassed 7 million units sold worldwide. This milestone sets the remake to be one of the best selling titles in the popular horror survival franchise, with the other remakes currently ahead of it in sales with the release lead.
Capcom has attributed this growth to their DLC plan that a steady flow of DLC that started with the Separate Ways DLC, which launched six months after the base game. Additionally, Capcom releasing the VR mode for free in December drove more sales.
Furthermore, the company also plans to leverage this strategy further to placate their shareholders while delivering content that is sure to make fans come running for more.
Resident Evil 4 Remake is currently available on Playstation 4 and PlayStation 5. The Separate Ways DLC and VR Mode are also available for those who wish to expand their experience.
