Capcom announced earlier today that Monster Hunter World has sold over 25 million units. This number includes both the base game and the Iceborne Master Edition originally released in September 2019.
The pioneer in the hunting genre took worldwide status when Monster Hunter World released in 2018 and became the best selling title for Capcom a month after its original release.
The game made another first in the series launching simultaneously worldwide which lead to an explosive growth in the series. Capcom then captilized on this success by focusing on worldwide promotions, they are planning to continue this trend in the future to keep the franchise growing.
Monster Hunter World is out now for Playstation 4 and Playstation 5 along with the Iceborne expansion which includes new areas and monsters to hunt.
