Compile Heart has shared the opening video for Death end re;Quest Code Z. This spin-off to their dark RPG series will feature the theme song Over my DEAD copy by Gesshoku Kaigi.
Code Z is a dungeon crawling spin-off that Compile Heart recently announced in Japan. The title is the first in the saga to have a CERO Z (the Japanese equivalent to ESRB’s 18 Rating).
In the game, players must explore a dungeon by the name of Strain Area. Following a roguelike structure, the dungeon changes the location of enemies, traps, and items every time you enter.
The game promises to be gruesome and filled with vivid illustrations of bloodshed and death. While the franchise has always had a dark, edgy tone, it seems like the next time will not be for the faint of heart.
Death end re;Quest Code Z comes to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 on September 19, 2024 in Japan. There is currently no word on an English localization, but it’s likely to happen considering Idea Factory International’s history.
