2K has announced Sid Meier’s Civilization VII, a new game in the highly influential strategy game. It’s coming to PlayStation 5 in 2025.
The Civilization series started back in 1991 and it’s paved the way for the 4X genre. The series was one of the titles by MicroProse, but has changed hands to Firaxis back in 1996 after the developers left the company.
While Firaxis and 2K haven’t shared much about the game yet, the tease has the following sentence:
The award-winning strategy game franchise returns with a revolutionary new chapter. Sid Meier’s Civilization® VII empowers you to build the greatest empire the world has ever known!
