Square Enix has announced that a full HD remake of Romancing SaGa 2, the hit RPG that sold more than 1 million copies upon its 1993 release in Japan, will return on October 24, 2024 as Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven, on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
Developed by the team behind Trials of Mana, this ground-up remake and standalone story will feature modern visuals, reworked strategic gameplay and various other enhancements that will delight longtime SaGa fans and newcomers alike.
Players will embark on a multi-generation adventure to protect and expand their empire. After the player’s homeland is attacked by one of the legendary Seven Heroes, a branching story of vengeance and redemption will unfold where the player must fight to protect everything they hold dear.
With the free-form scenario system the SaGa franchise is known for, the player’s choices will impact how the story develops, including who inherits the imperial throne with each successive generation.
