Nippon Ichi Software has announced Phantom Brave: The Lost Hero. The strategy RPG is coming to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 in 2025. NIS America has already confirmed English and French text translations as well as an English dub for the game.
Phantom Brave is a classic SRPG that Nippon Ichi originally released on the PlayStation 2 back in 2004. It was also the debut title of the company’s western branch NIS America.
Phantom Brave: The Lost Hero is a full sequel giving us a chance to play as Marona once again. This time, the girl who can speak to Phantoms, and her companion Ash explore the oceans along with newcomer Apricot.
Just like the original title, this is a grid-less tactical experience in which players must summon ally phantoms by confining them to objects. The new game will bring more features, such as new items and a special confriend system that allows Marona to combine herself with the phantoms.
The game will also have a cartoon-ish 3D artstyle just like the latest entries in the Disgaea series. You can see the reveal video below, though it only mentions the Nintendo Switch because it was part of the Nintendo Direct presentation:
