During their LRG 2024 broadcast, Limited Run Games and developer Whoopee Camp announced that Tomba! 2 will be making its way on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, with a release date due next year.
In case you’re unaware, Tomba! 2: The Evil Swine Return first launched for the PlayStation on October 28, 1999 in Japan, followed by a January 18, 2000 release in North America and June 16, 2000 in Europe. Players control the titular character Tomba, who must defeat the Evil Pigs and rescue his girlfriend Tabby.
This version of the game was developed using Limited Run Games’ proprietary Carbon Engine, which brings classic experiences to a modern format, while still retaining their authenticity.
