In a surprising turn of events, during EVO 2024, SNK has announced that they’ll be bringing the SNK vs. Capcom: SVC CHAOS game to modern platforms. It will be released 2 days from the time of this article, on July 22nd, 2024 for PlayStation 4.
In this remaster of the iconic crossover fighting game, players can choose from a legendary roster of 36 fighters composed of both SNK and Capcom characters.
These include Kyo Kusanagi, Terry Bogard, and Mai Shiranui, as well as Mars People, Athena, other NEOGEO-era icons, battle-hardened combatants such as Ryu, Chun-Li, and Demitri stand tall with Zero, Red Arremer, and many more.
The game will have online play support, allowing you to match up and throw down with players all around the world with rollback netcode support.
Online lobbies with a capacity for up to nine players can also be created, bringing SVC CHAOS to a new era of fighting game fans. Play tournaments your way by choosing from single-elimination, double-elimination, and round-robin formats.
Other quality-of-life improvements include a hitbox viewer, granting players an in-depth look at each character’s collision areas, and a rich gallery mode showcasing 80+ pieces of artwork, including key art and character portraits.
