Disney Dreamlight Valley’s Dapper Delights Update: Playstation Crossplay and New Features

Disney Dreamlight Valley players have reason to celebrate as the much-anticipated Dapper Delights update is set to launch on August 21, 2024. This update introduces a range of new features, including crossplay functionality for PlayStation users, and a wealth of fresh content designed to enrich the gameplay experience.

Crossplay Arrives for PlayStation Consoles

The Dapper Delights update marks a pivotal moment for PlayStation players, as crossplay support will finally be available for both PS5 and PS4 users. Previously, PlayStation gamers were limited to their own ecosystem, while players on Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and PC enjoyed the ability to interact across platforms. With this update, PlayStation players will now be able to visit friends’ valleys and collaborate on in-game activities regardless of their platform, bridging the gap and allowing players to interact with friends on other platforms. According to the developers, PlayStation policies were preventing them from allowing cross-saves with other platforms. However, this will also be implemented later this year. Unfortunately an exact date for this has yet to be announced.

New Content and Features to Explore

The Dapper Delights update is not just about connecting PlayStation players and other gamers; it also introduces an array of new content and features:

  • New Character Addition: Tiana from Disney’s The Princess and the Frog makes her debut in the Valley, bringing new Friendship Quests and exclusive items. Tiana’s Palace restaurant and Tiana’s Meal Stall will offer players new dining options and in-game experiences.
  • Roaring Twenties-Themed Star Path: The update features a new Star Path inspired by the Roaring Twenties, complete with Dream Styles for Donald Duck and a selection of new clothing, hairstyles, makeup, and furniture.
  • Premium Shop Expansions: Ariel’s Royal Bundle will be available, offering a range of customization items based on The Little Mermaid, including a Dream Style for Ariel and a House Style reminiscent of Prince Eric’s village.
  • Store and Furniture Updates: Scrooge McDuck’s Store has received a new batch of goods, and new interactive furniture has been added, allowing players to organize photo ops with their favorite villagers.

For players who own the A Rift in Time DLC, the update brings Act III – “Treasures of Time,” concluding the expansion’s storyline. This act introduces Jafar as a new character, along with new Friendship Quests and unique items. Additionally, a new Jafar figurine will be added to Scramblecoin, adding an element of unpredictability to the game.

Quality of Life Improvements and Bug Fixes

The update also addresses a range of bugs and stability issues, ensuring a smoother and more enjoyable experience for all players:

  • Edit Mode Upgrades: New search filters, item favorites, and the ability to save custom outfit presets have been added to the Furniture and Wardrobe menus.
  • Photo Mode Enhancements: Two new full-body avatar poses are now available.
  • Activity Tweaks: New toggles for cooking and fishing activities are included to streamline gameplay.
  • Special Deliveries Adjustments: Rewards for Remy’s Special Deliveries have been increased, and crafting recipes have been adjusted for better balance.

The Dapper Delights update promises to build upon the current Disney Dreamlight Valley experience, with the introduction of crossplay and a host of new content and features. After this week, the next update is expected in October, which will see the The Lion King‘s Timon and Pumbaa join the fun. At some point this year, we’ll also see the addition of Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas
