This morning, gaming outlet True Trophies posted an article talking about some titles that will be leaving the PlayStation Plus Extra catalogue, as evidenced by the fact that new games made their way into the “Leaving Soon” tab.
And indeed, after checking it ourselves, the tab has been quietly updated with twelve titles, including the entire Star Ocean franchise, Horizon Forbidden West, Nier Replicant, and many others.
The following titles will be removed from the PS Plus Extra catalogue on September 17th, 2024:
- Horizon Forbidden West
- Marvel’s Midnight Suns
- Alien Isolation
- Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2
- Nier Replicant
- Spiritfarer
- Cloudpunk
- Star Ocean The Divine Force
- Star Ocean Integrity and Faithlessness
- Star Ocean The Last Hope
- Star Ocean Till the End of Time
- Star Ocean First Departure R
A good chunk of the above titles are from Square Enix, which, given that they removed a significant portion of the Final Fantasy franchise from the service catalogue, it does beg the question as to what are their plans for the service, going forward.
