Welcome to Astro Bot, a 3D platform game developed by SIE Japan Studio’s Team ASOBI studio, exclusively for PlayStation 5! The game is a direct sequel to Astro’s Playroom and is loaded with easter eggs that pay homage to many games that marked PlayStation’s story somehow.
Many easter eggs are also collectibles — that’s why finding them is an important part of the game experience. Overall, Astro Bot has 4 Galaxies to explore, with 6 Planets on each. It can take around 12 to 15 hours to finish the story, get all collectibles, and grab the Platinum Trophy.
All Collectibles are divided into Rescue Bots and Puzzle Pieces — and each Planet (or, at least, most of them) has 7 Bots and 3 Puzzle Pieces to collect. There are also Lost Galaxies that can be found inside Planets that unlock special Levels.
An important notice is that none of the Collectibles are missable. You can replay any Planet at any time to collect your missing items. There’s also a built-in progress tracker in the PlayStation 5’s trophy list, where you can track how many you found already.
Gorilla Nebula (World)
Astro Bot’s main story is linear most of the time, so you need to complete the Worlds in a specific order. The first one is Gorilla Nebula, which has 42 Bots, 16 Puzzle Pieces and 2 Lost Galaxies.
Inside Gorilla Nebula, there are 6 Planets — 4 Main Planets, 1 Boss, and 1 Special Planet. For this Collectible Guide, we listed the locations for all Bots and Puzzle Pieces for Apes On The Loose, one of the Main Planets inside this galaxy.
Apes On The Loose (Planet)
There is a total of 10 Bots and 3 Puzzle Pieces in Apes On The Loose. So let’s begin!
Ape Bot 1/10
The first one is hidden in a bush in the first garden. Press L2 to track and R2 to catch him with the net. He is kind of a tutorial, so it’s impossible to miss.
Ape Bot 2/10
At the big open area, there is a Bot right in front of you, near the structure in the center. As you chase him, he will run and try to get away — just keep going until you catch him.
Ape Bot 3/10
On the left of the big open area, there is a Bot near the fountain. Just chase and grab him.
Puzzle Piece 1/3
At the same fountain you found the Bot 3/10, step on the splash of water inside the fountain to grab a Puzzle Piece.
Ape Bot 4/10
Right in the front of the fountain (where you found Bot 3/10 and Puzzle Piece 1/3), pull the wire in the small platform to get a throwable item to toss on the alien. He will release a Bot that you need to chase and grab.
Ape Bot 5/10
Right in the front of the area where you got Bot 4/10 from the alien, notice that there is a bunch of bushes. One of them hides a Bot. So use L2 to track sim.
Puzzle Piece 2/3
When you reach an area with a slime enemy, climb the ladder that is behind him. You will find a Puzzle Piece on a breakable floor. Just be careful not to fall and collect it.
Ape Bot 6/10
At the same breakable floor you got Puzzle Piece 2/3, you will find a Bot.
Ape Bot 7/10
In the front of the blue button on the right side of this open area, go up the platform to find a slime enemy. Defeat him to reveal a wire. Pull it so that you grab a flower that gives you a boost to jump higher. Use this flower to reach the tall platforms in front of you where a Bot is waiting. This one is tricky, and you need to be fast! Chase him and try to jump strategically to hit the Bot.
Puzzle Piece 3/3
At the same platform you found the Bot 7/10, a Puzzle Piece is right below it. Look down and jump to grab the collectible.
Ape Bot 8/10
At the right side of the open area, there is a Bot on the top of a platform that has a ramp. Just chase him as hard as you can to grab it.
Ape Bot 9/10
At the right side of the open area, you will find a mud of concrete. On the center of it, there is a crate with bananas. Break it to reveal a Bot.
Specter Bot 10/10
Reach the top of this area with the pink handrails to face the Specter Bot. Just avoid his attacks until you have an opportunity to catch him with R2. Impossible to miss and required to finish the planet.
These are all collectibles for Apes On The Loose. Congratulations!
