Astro Bot Guide: Trapped in Time – All Collectibles (Bots and Puzzle Pieces)

Welcome to Astro Bot, a 3D platform game developed by SIE Japan Studio’s Team ASOBI studio, exclusively for PlayStation 5! The game is a direct sequel to Astro’s Playroom and is loaded with easter eggs that pay homage to many games that marked PlayStation’s story somehow.

Many easter eggs are also collectibles — that’s why finding them is an important part of the game experience. Overall, Astro Bot has 4 Galaxies to explore, with 6 Planets on each. It can take around 12 to 15 hours to finish the story, get all collectibles, and grab the Platinum Trophy.

All Collectibles are divided into Rescue Bots and Puzzle Pieces — and each Planet (or, at least, most of them) has 7 Bots and 3 Puzzle Pieces to collect. There are also Lost Galaxies that can be found inside Planets that unlock special Levels.

An important notice is that none of the Collectibles are missable. You can replay any Planet at any time to collect your missing items. There’s also a built-in progress tracker in the PlayStation 5’s trophy list, where you can track how many you found already.

Serpent Starway (World)

Astro Bot’s main story is linear most of the time, so you need to complete the Worlds in a specific order. The third one is Serpent Starway, which has 42 Bots, 16 Puzzle Pieces and 2 Lost Galaxies.

Inside Serpent Starway, there are 6 Planets — 4 Main Planets, 1 Boss, and 1 Special Planet. For this Collectible Guide, we listed the locations for all Bots and Puzzle Pieces for Trapped in Time, one of the Main Planets inside this galaxy.

Trapped in Time (Planet)

There is a total of 7 Bots and 3 Puzzle Pieces in Trapped in Time. So let’s begin!

Puzzle Piece 1/3

At the beginning of the level, while piloting the controller, hit the snake that appears on the left to reveal a Puzzle Piece. Just make sure to grab it!

Bot 1/7

When you reach a platform with spike yellow enemies, there is a Bot on the cage on the left side of this area. Use the chicken mechanic to fly on the top of the gate, press Square to grab the handle, and use the mechanic again to open it. Then, drop to the gate to rescue the Bot.

Rudy Roughknight Bot 2/7

At the area with a snake and two electric enemies, go to the right and look down to find a platform you can drop below. Enter the sand curtain to see the Rudy Roughknight Bot in a hidden cave.

Puzzle Piece 2/3

After you climb some leaves to reach the top of a structure, look to your left to see a giant jar with a Puzzle Piece on the top of a round tower. What you need to do is drop to the area below and go to the front of the building to find a wire to pull, which gives Astro a flower boost. Climb the leaves again and from the edge of this structure, use the chicken mechanic to launch yourself in the after towards the jar, and then use the flower boost to reach the tower. Now break the jar (on the right side) to grab the Puzzle Piece.

Bot 3/7

Proceed until you enter a tower with purple lava. While jumping on the platforms, you will notice that of the platforms that have a handle. Grab it and use the chicken mechanic to reveal a Bot.

The Traveler Bot 4/7

At the area with the purple lava, proceed until you see three moving squares on the right side. You need to be fast so jump on the first one and push the handle to stabilize it. Do the same thing with the second and third ones to reach The Traveler Bot — that is from the game Journey!

Bot 5/7

When you face two snake enemies at the same time, defeat them to reveal a star on the ground. Use Square to dig and find a hole with a Bot.

Puzzle Piece 3/3

When you reach a checkpoint near a floor full of golden rocks, jump and press A to reveal that this floor is breakable. Notice that there are some platforms below — because a Puzzle Piece is there!

Bot 6/7

At the area with the pond of purple lava and some enemies, defeat all of them to make some meerkats appear on the left side. One of them is a Bot.

Bot 7/7

At the final area of this Level, there is a seagull holding a Bot in the air. Jump on the top of the tree on the right and wait for the seagull to fly nearby to hit the Bot.

These are all collectibles for Trapped in Time. Congratulations!
