Square Enix Producer Kosuke Okatani has recently announced that starting with the new Party Goes On! season on December 13, there will be no new content added to Foamstars. The new trailer also showcases that a collaboration with NieR Automata is planned.
This does not mean the game will be shutting down. In fact, the producer specifically states that even after this last season concludes on January 17 next year, the FOAMSTARS CUP will begin as in-game events named after each character, and the Extreme Party will also take place regularly. Furthermore, previous Season Passes will be made available again as well. All of the online services will remain live.
About Foamstars
FOAMSTARS is a 4vs4 party shooter focused on online battles. The concept of the game revolves around territorial battles. By dropping colorful foam over the areas, you can claim them for your team and use it to speed through areas like in Nintendo’s Splatoon.
A colorful cast of playable characters is at the center of the experience, each of which uses different weapon styles. The game was previously $29.99, but has recently transitioned to a free-to-play format with microtransactions.
