This morning, HoYoverse has recently unveiled the next version update for their urban fantasy ARPG Zenless Zone Zero on their Special Program.
The new Version 1.5, titled “Astra-nomical Moment” will be released on January 22nd for the PlayStation 5. This version update will feature Astra Yao, New Eridu’s brightest star, where she’ll take to the stage to deliver a dazzling New Year performance, while Proxies will find themselves involved in an adventure unfolding both under the Starloop spotlight and in the shadows.

After defeating the Sacrifice monster at Port Elpis, the Proxies meet Astra Yao, during one of her escapades. To celebrate the New Years, she is set to perform at Starloop, the city’s iconic landmark. When the main stage encircled by structures resembling a star’s orbit rises, Astra will shine brilliantly in the spotlight.
Yet, where there is light, shadows are never far behind. Conspiracies and schemes lurking beneath the stage threaten Astra. However, with Evelyn and the Proxy’s unwavering support and protection, she will certainly triumph over all adversities.
Version 1.5 Agents
For Version 1.5, both Astra Yao and Evelyn will join the character cast.
As an S-Rank Ether Support Agent, Astra Yao can enter the Idyllic Cadenza state, providing damage bonus to the entire squad. Even when switching Agents, she remains on the battlefield to continue buffing her teammates. Serving as the first healing character in the game, her Ultimate not only damages enemies but also restores HP to the entire squad.
Besides Astra Yao, her assistant Evelyn will also join the mix. As a S-Rank Fire Attack Agent whose attacks generate Burning Tether Point, and once fully accumulated, she can unleash a Chain Attack alone. After using her Ultimate for the first time, she enters Dance of Awakened Fire, where subsequent Ultimate will unlock a new animation.
Astra Yao will be available during the first half of banners of Version 1.5, alongside a rerun for Ellen. The second half of banners will feature Evelyn and a rerun for Qingyi.
The Urban Video Game Festival Event
To celebrate the Urban Video Game Festival, Mach 25, a new parkour arcade game where players can race with various vehicles, will be available at Godfinger. Meanwhile, Bizarre Brigade will add a 2-player PvE mode and introduce 7 new Dream Seekers including Wise, Belle, and members of Cunning Hares.
Additionally, players can further refine their combat skills in new gameplays such as Endless Tower: The Last Stand, implemented in the Simulated Battle Trial where players will ascend in phases of 10 floors with specific combat effects, and Perpetrator Battle, accessed through Hollow Zero where players need to use designated Agents, exclusive Gear, and Resonia to defeat formidable foes. Shiyu Defense and Deadly Assault will also be updated in rotation in Version 1.5 to offer players a more varied combat experience.
Zenless Zone Zero Adds Character Outfits
By participating in the Bangboo pageant “Ridu’s Got Boo” during “The Day of Brilliant Wishes,” players will help Eous secure the championship and unlock various rewards, including Nicole’s new outfit. Meanwhile, the Elpis Ultimate Angler Championship will offer Proxies an opportunity to hone their fishing skills and earn prestigious rewards, such as an exclusive dynamic wallpaper.
At the same time, both Astra Yao and Ellen will also be receiving new character outfits. These will be available for purchase through the in-game shop with a discounted price throughout the duration of Version 1.5, but even after the period passes, they’ll still be available.
Quality of Life Improvements
HoYoverse continues to improve Zenless Zone Zero, closely listening to player feedback. In Version 1.5, players will now be able to customize their own training plan for their agents, based on their needs and preferences.
Furthermore, the Routine Cleanup UI has also been streamlined, allowing players to quickly recharge their Battery with the right amount needed, and now, stages will show which Drive Discs you can obtain in each plan.
