Whenever a new puzzle game comes about, it’s often understandable that sometimes, we may require a hint or two. And that’s exactly what we’re doing today. Welcome to the Blue Prince guide series, with tips and tricks on how to navigate the mysterious mansion.
In this guide, we’ll be tackling the Billboards Room puzzle, which grants players with either two keys or a rare key, which are important items in navigating the mansion. We’ll be providing several hints on how to solve this puzzle.

Hint 1: Colors and Their Meanings
Upon starting the puzzle, you’ll notice that there are four possible colors that can appear on the dartboard: Green, Yellow, Pink and Purple. These represent the mathematical operation you must do in each case. Green means addition, Yellow means subtraction, Pink means multiplication, Purple means division.
Hint 2: Standard Procedures Won’t Work
Normally in math, operations are usually solved in the PEMDAS order, but you won’t be able to solve this using that rule. You’ll have to solve the numbers in order of appearance from the center to the edges. Take the example below. First, we must add 9, then subtract it by 7, and then we multiply it by 10. Normally, we would have to do multiplication first, but since the pink part is farther from the center, we will only multiply by 10 the result of the previous operation, which is 2, earning us 20.
Hint 3: The Room Gets Harder! But Not All is Lost
The more times you draft the Billiards Room, the harder the puzzle inside gets. Eventually, you’ll even obtain harder puzzles that contain a square or a diamond in the center. This means you’ll use the exponential function based on the color.
This can be a doozy to solve, but just know this: The answer can never be bigger than 20 or even 0. This is because you have to press down the panel of the number, and this panel only has numbers from 0 to 20. Furthermore, if the answer results in a negative number, take off the negative sign and press the panel of your answer either way.
Don’t fret though, because if you manage to find one of the Upgrade Disks scattered across the house, you have the chance to upgrade the Billiards Room to a Speakeasy. Doing so will permanently reduce the difficulty of the puzzle. The Speakeasy puzzle will only have basic addition, making it extremely easy.
