Welcome to Astro Bot, a 3D platform game developed by SIE Japan Studio’s Team ASOBI studio, exclusively for PlayStation 5! The game is a direct sequel to Astro’s Playroom and is loaded with easter eggs that pay homage to many games that marked PlayStation’s story somehow.
Many easter eggs are also collectibles — that’s why finding them is an important part of the game experience. Overall, Astro Bot has 4 Galaxies to explore, with 6 Planets on each. It can take around 12 to 15 hours to finish the story, get all collectibles, and grab the Platinum Trophy.
All Collectibles are divided into Rescue Bots and Puzzle Pieces — and each Planet (or, at least, most of them) has 7 Bots and 3 Puzzle Pieces to collect. There are also Lost Galaxies that can be found inside Planets that unlock special Levels.
An important notice is that none of the Collectibles are missable. You can replay any Planet at any time to collect your missing items. There’s also a built-in progress tracker in the PlayStation 5’s trophy list, where you can track how many you found already.
Tentacle System (World)
Astro Bot’s main story is linear most of the time, so you need to complete the Worlds in a specific order. The second one is Tentacle System, which has 46 Bots, 16 Puzzle Pieces and 2 Lost Galaxies.
Inside Tentacle System, there are 6 Planets — 4 Main Planets, 1 Boss, and 1 Special Planet. For this Collectible Guide, we listed the locations for all Bots and Puzzle Pieces for Trunk of Funk, one of the Main Planets inside this galaxy.
Trunk of Funk (Planet)
There is a total of 7 Bots and 3 Puzzle Pieces in Trunk of Funk. So let’s begin!
Puzzle Piece 1/3
Right at the beginning of the Planet, while flying with the ship, a Puzzle Piece will appear in your way. Be quick to grab it!
Puzzle Piece 2/3
On the right side of the open area, there is a meerkat holding a golf ball. Hit the golf ball while aiming towards the cup (hole) to reveal a Puzzle Piece.
Bot 1/7
On the back side of the open area, there is a Bot riding a deer (near a cow). Hit him for the rescue!
Deacon St. John Bot 2/7
On the right side of the open area (just a little further from the Puzzle Piece 2/3), keep an eye on the right side until you see the Deacon St. John Bot (from the game Days Gone!) asking for help on the top of a pink mushroom. Defeat the enemy and rescue him.
Bot 3/7
As soon as you leave the giant tree, you need to create some grass platforms to progress. Notice that there is an alternative path on your right to a nest, which hides a Bot.
Bot 4/7
When you enter the tree for the second time, climb to the top and look up instead of leaving to see an alternative path that leads to an enemy. Use the grass platforms to follow this path, defeat the enemy, and look up one more time to see a platform with a wire. Use the grass platforms again to reach it. Pull the wire to reveal a Bot.
Bot 5/7
When you leave the tree for the second time, you will have to use grass platforms to progress. Keep an eye on your left to find a platform that is a little too far away. Use the grass platforms again to reach it and find a very curious Bot.
Kena Bot 6/7
As you climb up the tree, you will find an enemy that comes off the wall. Look to your left to find an optional platform. Go there to see the Kena Bot (from the game Kena: Bridge of Spirits)!
Puzzle Piece 3/3
After leaving the beehive, you will find a giant pink enemy. Defeat him to reveal a hole underneath him with a Puzzle Piece.
Bot 7/7
As you progress, you will find two enemies full of honey. Defeat them and use the honey to bounce to the up (right in this area) to find a zipper. This will open up a hidden path to a Bot.
These are all collectibles for Trunk of Funk. Congratulations!
