Astro’s Playroom Guide: GPU Jungle – All Collectibles (Artifacts, Puzzle Pieces)

Welcome to Astro’s Playroom, a 3D platform free-to-play game developed by SIE Japan Studio’s Team ASOBI studio, exclusively for PlayStation 5! The game is a direct sequel to Astro Bot Rescue Mission (a PS VR title) and is loaded with PlayStation easter eggs that pay homage to over 60 games from across 26 years.

Many easter eggs are collectibles — that’s why finding them is an important part of the game experience! Also, Astro’s Playroom is a straightforward and quick game to platinum with fairly simple gameplay. It can take around 5 hours to finish the story, get all collectibles, and grab the Platinum Trophy.

Astro’s Playroom is structured into 4 Main Worlds (not counting CPU Plaza and PlayStation Labo, since they act as hubs and not separate worlds), each containing 4 Levels. All Collectibles are divided into Artifacts and Puzzle Pieces — and each World has 9 Artifacts and 16 Puzzle Pieces across its Levels.

An important notice is that none of the Collectibles are missable. You can replay any World or Level at any time to collect your missing items. There’s also a built-in progress tracker in the PlayStation 5’s trophy list, where you can keep track of how many you found already.

GPU Jungle – All Artifacts and Puzzle Pieces

The entrance to GPU Jungle in Astro’s Playroom

Astro’s Playroom gives total freedom to its players from the beginning, that’s why it is your decision on which level you want to complete next. GPU Jungle is a World that easily has the best soundtrack of the game (yes, “I’m Your GPU”, I’m talking about you) and introduces the Monkey Suit. Here’s how it works: you can grab onto ledges with the monkey’s arms while pressing L2 and R2, and tilting your controller left or right to extend its arms in a specific direction.

In order to obtain all Collectibles in GPU Jungle, all 4 Levels must be completed. They are Renderforest, Teraflop Treetops, Raytrace Ruins, and Mt. Motherboard. For this Collectible Guide, we listed the locations for all Artifacts and Puzzle Pieces for each Level right below. So let’s begin!

Render Forest

There are a total of 2 Artifacts and 4 Puzzle Pieces in Render Forest, the first Level for GPU Jungle.

PS Move Motion Controller (Artifact 1/2)

At the beginning of the level, go immediately to the right and drop down to a lower area. Near the lake, there’s a curtain of plants that you need to blow with the microphone to reveal a cave. Pull the wire to discover an Artifact.

Puzzle Piece 1/4

At the first area of the level, some enemies are walking in circles on a round platform on the left. Defeat them to reveal a robot plant that spawns a platform. Climb up to reach a tree that has a Puzzle Piece on it.

Puzzle Piece 2/4

When you reach a round wooden platform that has a wire on it, follow the path on the left to find a long cable. At the end of it, there’s a Puzzle Piece.

Puzzle Piece 3/4

As you proceed, you’ll need to use a throwable wire across a gap to reach a checkpoint. Instead, look back and use the item to break a couple of walls. One of them will reveal a Puzzle Piece.

Playstation Vita Game Pack” (Artifact 2/2)

When you avoid a large yellow barrel, go immediately to the left and drop to the area below. You’ll find a cave with a wire that will unlock an Artifact.

Puzzle Piece 4/4

Immediately after crossing the wooden bridge, drop to the area below on the left to find a Puzzle Piece.

Teraflop Treetops

There are a total of 2 Artifacts and 4 Puzzle Pieces in Teraflop Treetops, the second Level for GPU Jungle.

Puzzle Piece 1/4

After getting the Monkey Suit, you’ll need to climb up a little. When you find the first moving handhold, notice that you can follow a path to the left instead of going up. Go there to discover a Puzzle Piece.

Puzzle Piece 2/4

When you reach the yellow bars, there’s a Puzzle Piece on the left of the second bar. Hard to miss.

PlayStation Camera (Artifact 1/2)

From the second yellow bar (where there was a Puzzle Piece on it), notice there’s a path on the left with a set of handholds. Climb this area to discover an Artifact.

Puzzle Piece 3/4

As you progress towards the end of the level, a Puzzle Piece will appear in the path. Quite impossible to miss.

Puzzle Piece 4/4

From the bar with the Puzzle Piece 3/4 that suddenly appears in the path climbing up, you can see a handhold on the right — that will reveal a secret area with another Puzzle Piece.

DUALSHOCK 4 Wireless Controller (Artifact 2/2)

After getting the Puzzle Piece 4/4, you will automatically be dropped to a bar that has a golden box with an Artifact.

Raytrace Ruins

There are a total of 2 Artifacts and 4 Puzzle Pieces in Raytrace Ruins, the third Level for GPU Jungle.

Puzzle Piece 1/4

At the beginning of the level, go immediately to the right and pull the wire to reveal a Puzzle Piece.

Puzzle Piece 2/4

When you reach a checkpoint near a round platform with a very long enemy, follow a hidden path on the left to find a Puzzle Piece.

PSVR Processor Unit (Artifact 1/2)

After you reach the top of a platform that has some robots trying to climb it, go to the right to find a wire that you can pull. An Artifact will pop up.

Puzzle Piece 3/4

While trying to cross a long cable right after a checkpoint, you’ll be blown with a gust of wind. Use it in your favor to jump on a platform with a robot flower. Hit the flower to reveal a platform with a Puzzle Piece on it.

PlayStation Vita (Artifact 2/2)

On the platform that has the Puzzle Piece 3/4, climb to the top to reach an area covered in glass. Break it and pull the wire to unlock an Artifact.

Puzzle Piece 4/4

Immediately after defeating the boss (that is a giant floating face) with arrows, a long cable will be revealed to go to the other side. Instead, look on the left to see a hole in the wall that has a breakable object. Shoot it to reveal a platform with a Puzzle Piece on it.

Mt. Motherboard

There are a total of 3 Artifacts and 4 Puzzle Pieces in Mt. Motherboard, the fourth and final Level for GPU Jungle.

Puzzle Piece 1/4

Right after the first cannon, a Puzzle Piece will appear on the top left of the screen. Hard to miss.

PSVR Headset (Artifact 1/3)

After snatching the Puzzle Piece 1/4, grab the swinging handhold right below it. You’ll be sent to a path on the left that has a golden box with an Artifact by the end of it.

Puzzle Piece 2/4

A Puzzle Piece will appear on the path that you need to take to progress. Impossible to miss.

Puzzle Piece 3/4

After the area with the falling wall pieces, you’ll reach some yellow bars. Notice that on the bottom right of the screen, a Puzzle Piece will appear. Just jump in its direction to grab it.

Puzzle Piece 4/4

Immediately after snatching the Puzzle Piece 3/4, you’ll be sent to a wall full of handholds. Grab the lowest one (the only yellow handhold) of this wall to make a Puzzle Piece pop up.

PS VR Aim Controller (Artifact 2/3)

In the same area that you found Puzzle Piece 3/4 and 4/4, just climb the wall to progress and you’ll find a golden box with an Artifact.

PlayStation 4 (Artifact 3/3)

Finish the World to unlock automatically the last Artifact. Impossible to miss.

That’s all of the Artifact & Puzzle Pieces Locations in GPU Jungle, one of the Four Worlds from Astro’s Playroom on PlayStation 5. By completing 100% in this World, you will earn “Greatness awaits!”, “Charted!” & “The Found Legacy” trophies as a reward. Congratulations!
