Astro’s Playroom is a 3D platform free-to-play game developed by SIE Japan Studio’s Team ASOBI studio, exclusively for PlayStation 5. The game is a direct sequel to Astro Bot Rescue Mission (a PS VR title) and is loaded with PlayStation easter eggs that pay homage to over 60 games from across 26 years.
Many easter eggs are collectibles — that’s why finding them is an important part of the game experience! Also, Astro’s Playroom is a straightforward and quick game to platinum with fairly simple gameplay. It can take around 5 hours to finish the story, get all collectibles, and grab the Platinum Trophy.
Astro’s Playroom is structured into 4 Main Worlds (not counting CPU Plaza and PlayStation Labo, since they act as hubs and not separate worlds), each containing 4 Levels. All Collectibles are divided into Artifacts and Puzzle Pieces — and each World has 9 Artifacts and 16 Puzzle Pieces across its Levels.
An important notice is that none of the Collectibles are missable. You can replay any World or Level at any time to collect your missing items. There’s also a built-in progress tracker in the PlayStation 5’s trophy list, where you can keep track of how many you found already.
Memory Meadow – All Artifacts and Puzzle Pieces
Astro’s Playroom gives total freedom to its players from the beginning, that’s why it is your decision on which level you want to complete next. Memory Meadow introduces the Ball Suit, transforming the protagonist into a ball. Here’s how it works: you’ll be able to control where the ball moves with the touchpad, being quite a simple mechanic.
To obtain all Collectibles in Memory Meadow, all 4 Levels must be completed. They are Gusty Gateway, Fastlane Fields, Electrocloud, and Bumper Broadway. For this Collectible Guide, we listed the locations for all Artifacts and Puzzle Pieces for each Level right below. So let’s begin!
Gusty Gateway
There are a total of 2 Artifacts and 4 Puzzle Pieces in Gusty Gateway, the first Level for Memory Meadow.
Puzzle Piece 1/4
At the beginning of the level, a Puzzle Piece rests on the platform right in front of you. Cross a short cable to reach it.
Puzzle Piece 2/4
When you see a blowing cloud, there’s a Puzzle Piece in front of it. Just keep walking towards the collectible to collect it.
PlayStation Controller (Artifact 1/2)
After reaching a robot flower that you can hit to reveal a moving platform, jump to the ledges behind a cloud and climb it. You’ll find a wire that you can pull. An Artifact will pop up.
Puzzle Piece 3/4
When you reach a slope that you can slide down, a Puzzle Piece will be waiting for you in an area full of gray quicksand.
PlayStation Mouse (Artifact 2/2)
In the area where you need to jump on a PlayStation cloud to reach the other side, jump to the cliff ledges instead of reaching the checkpoint. Climb it to the top to find a big wire that you can pull to reveal an Artifact.
Puzzle Piece 4/4
When it starts raining on the level (and an umbrella pops up above Astro’s head), progress until you reach an area with a large platform on the right. Climb it to collect a Puzzle Piece.
Fastlane Fields
There are a total of 2 Artifacts and 4 Puzzle Pieces in Fastlane Fields, the second Level for Memory Meadow.
Puzzle Piece 1/4
Right after Astro is transformed into a ball, a Puzzle Piece will appear under a bridge on the left side of the area when you get close.
Puzzle Piece 2/4
When you reach a gray road, there’s a Puzzle Piece on the left side. Hard to miss.
PlayStation Memory Card (Artifact 1/2)
At the end of the gray road with the Puzzle Piece 2/4, you’ll see two paths right in front of you. Follow the path on the left (where there’s a danger sign) until the end to discover an Artifact.
PlayStation Game Disc (Artifact 2/2)
After jumping a gap with a bowling pin, go to the right to find two moving platforms with blue stripes on them. Use them to reach the other side, where there’s an Artifact waiting for you.
Puzzle Piece 3/4
Before entering the area with the ramp, go to the right side to find a jumping platform. You’ll be propelled into the air to grab a Puzzle Piece.
Puzzle Piece 4/4
While going down the ramp, always stick to the right side to find a path with a Puzzle Piece.
Electrocloud
There are a total of 2 Artifacts and 4 Puzzle Pieces in Electrocloud, the third Level for Memory Meadow.
Puzzle Piece 1/4
When you reach the second checkpoint, go to the left to find a spot on the wall, where you need to blow into the mic to reveal a secret area. There’s a Puzzle Piece on the platform on the left.
PS One LCD Monitor (Artifact 1/2)
In the secret area with the Puzzle Piece 1/4, just progress toward the end of it to find a wire that you can pull to reveal an Artifact.
Puzzle Piece 2/4
When you need to ride a circuit board while avoiding some electric obstacles, a Puzzle Piece will appear in your way. Hard to miss.
Puzzle Piece 3/4
In the area with multiple electrified floor tiles, a Puzzle Piece will appear floating in your way. Hard to miss.
PlayStation Multitap (Artifact 2/2)
Right after getting the Puzzle Piece 3/4, you’ll reach a checkpoint. Turn to your left to find a path that leads to a wire that you can pull to reveal an Artifact.
Puzzle Pieces 4/4
When you reach an area with stomping televisions, there are two clouds near a checkpoint. Use them to jump to the television. There’s a Puzzle Piece in the air right above.
Bumper Boardway
There are a total of 3 Artifacts and 4 Puzzle Pieces in Bumper Boardway, the fourth and final Level for Memory Meadow.
Puzzle Piece 1/4
After being transformed into a ball and you reach the first pinball area, roll into a yellow spot on the left to jump to a rail with a Puzzle Piece at the end.
Puzzle Piece 2/4
In the first pinball area, know all bowling enemies in the center of the area to make a Puzzle Piece pop up.
Puzzle Piece 3/4
When you reach a path with ice blocks, a Puzzle Piece will appear in your way. Use the touchpad button to control the ball’s speed to grab it.
DualShock Controller (Artifact 1/3)
While on the path with ice blocks (right after getting the Puzzle Piece 3/4), you’ll notice there is a path to the left with a danger sign. Go there and by the end of this, you will find a golden box with an Artifact.
Puzzle Piece 4/4
A Puzzle Piece will be in your way while you progress. It’s near the large middle bumper in a round platform. Quite impossible to miss.
PocketStation (Artifact 2/3)
From the platform with the Puzzle Piece 4/4, notice that there is a path to the left with a danger sign. Follow it to discover an Artifact at the end.
PlayStation (Artifact 3/3)
Finish the World to unlock automatically the last Artifact. Impossible to miss.
That’s all of the Artifact & Puzzle Pieces Locations in Memory Meadow, one of the Four Worlds from Astro’s Playroom on PlayStation 5. For completing 100% in this World, you will earn “Do it!”, “…And Conquered Worlds” & “Ico-nic” trophies as a reward. Congratulations!
