Player First Games has recently announced that Beetlejuice will be joining the MultiVersus roster on August 20th, and a brand-new trailer that gives fans a first look at the iconic character and his unique new abilities was showcased.
MultiVersus’s Beetlejuice
Beetlejuice will be part of the game’s assassin class, bringing a range of quirky and powerful moves to the battlefield. The new trailer showcases his ability to sprout spikes from his body to attack enemies, swing hammers, and even summon sandworms for devastating attacks. Beetlejuice also uses a flying beetle that helps him recover and a coffin drop move that can send opponents soaring if it connects.
In addition to his standard look, Beetlejuice will come with a Matador variant, and several other MultiVersus characters will be getting Beetlejuice-inspired skins. Dubbed the Afterlife variants, these new looks include designs for characters like Superman, Agent Smith, Joker, and more.
While most of these variants feature the character’s iconic black-and-white striped suit, some, like Reindog and Bugs Bunny, have the same pale/dark combined colour palate and bright green eyes that Beetljuice does.
While MultiVersus has featured many iconic actors reprising their roles, Michael Keaton, who is returning as Beetlejuice in the upcoming Beetlejuice Beetlejuice film, will not be voicing the character in the game. Instead, Christopher Swindle, who previously voiced him in LEGO Dimensions, will take on the role instead.
