In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Bloober Team’s CEO, and creative lead, Piotr Babieno, addressed some of the backlash regarding the upcoming Silent Hill 2 project. Babieno acknowledged the criticism and difficulty of tackling a game that many fans consider untouchable.
“We understand the hesitation from fans, but internally, we are viewing this as ‘Bloober Team 3.0,'” Babieno shared. “The team today is completely different from three years ago and we are confident in our abilities to bring something new to the table.”
Bloober Team is generally known for its unique and atmospheric horror games (Layers of Fear, The Medium), which should make it a strong candidate for a Silent Hill 2 reimagining. However, there has been a lot of backlash and negativity surrounding the upcoming release of Silent Hill 2 from the trailers and footage they have released so far.
As a massive fan of the survival-horror genre myself, I hope they can pull this one off!
