Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 is celebrating its 7th anniversary with a free update, more upcoming content

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 is turning seven this year, and Namco Bandai has plenty in store to keep the title alive and kicking in the coming year. Among this new content is a free update meant to coincide with the game’s seventh birthday on October 12, 2023.

It seems that Namco Bandai is still giving life to Xenoverse 2 with plans for a roadmap set for both the remainder of 2023 and 2024. The expanse of the Dragon Ball franchise is broad. But the game’s up-and-coming content will not necessarily be drawn from the past. Instead, it appears that it will be forward-thinking, teased as “a step toward the future”.

Notable of these changes when they arrive are the Welcome Login bonus and a free trial of DLC characters. Want to take specific DLC fighters, like Jiren or Broly, for a spin before buying them? With the free trial which lasts until October 19, you can. But more downloadable content is also in store as Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 finally makes its way to next-gen platforms, like the PlayStation 5.

There is also other interesting content waiting for Xenoverse 2, such as the Festival of Universes event or the Cross Versus battle mode. As the cap for the players’ avatar is unlocked, it also meant opening a room for stronger fighters, such as the Awoken Skill Ultra Instinct. And for a week, beginning October 12 until October 19, players will be able to receive freebies by simply choosing to log into the game daily.
