Square Enix revealed some new details for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth during the game’s State of Play. Fans eager to try out the action RPG can now enjoy a demo, and the company plans to update it before the full game’s release.
The current demonstration covers the Nibelheim Episode, a memorable event from Cloud’s past. As players go through his memories of the events, it’ll be possible to play as both Cloud and Sephiroth.
On February 21, 2024, the demo will be updated to also include another playable area. After that date, it’ll be possible to explore the Junon region. This second area will be unlocked for anyone who played the Nibelheim episode and it’ll focus on free exploration.
Demo players will be able to skip the Nibelheim scenes in the full game by copleting it on the demo. However, the Junon portion of the demo is a compact version of the real thing, making it not possible to carry over data from it.
By having demo save data, players will be able to claim a Kupo charm and a Survival set. The former s an accessory that increases item extraction, while the latter is a package with potions and ethers.
