Developer Mega Cat Studios has announced a side scrolling adventure set in the Five Nights at Freddy’s Universe, titled Five Nights at Freddy’s: Into the Pit. It will be coming to PS4 and PS5, but as of the time of writing, a release date wasn’t revealed.
The game is based on a short story by series creator Scott Cawthon and Elley Cooper of the same name. Players will take the role of Oswald, who has been forced to spend his summer with his dad at the library and the local pizzeria. One day, he decides to hide inside the ball pit that nobody has used in years intending to give his dad a quick scare.
However, after appearing from the ball pit he has found himself in a different pizzeria called Freddy’s. Now Oswald must figure out why a mysterious figure has been following him and why the ball pit brought him to 1985.
A trailer was shown that detailed some of the gameplay which includes running and hiding from a Golden Bonnie animatronic. No release date has yet to be given for Five Nights at Freddy’s: Into the Pit but the gameplay looks solid enough and various pages for the title has already gone live.
