A Full Rundown Of Gamescom 2024 Announcements

Another years Gamescom is upon us with countless announcements and trailers at the Opening Night Live event in Cologne, Germany. Here is a PSLegend run down of the announcements made this year.

Borderlands 4

I am sure this seemed like a great idea before the film…but yes, the next edition in the vault hunting saga will arrive on Playstation in 2025. Not much was revealed from the trailer apart from the planet and the new ‘modern’ looking psycho mask, more akin to that of the film.

Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero

Badai Namco shared a brand-new trailer with multiple fight scenes from the upcoming game, which is less than 50 days away from release on the Playstation 5. The game is set to feature high-speed 3D action and 164-character options at launch.

Street Fighter 6

Another fighting game with a new gameplay trailer is Capcom’s Street Fighter 6. The new trailer for its character pack showcased more gameplay as well as a focus on Terry. He is one of the characters featured in this game as part of the new pass. New game modes, combos and characters can be yours September 24th 2024.

Monster Hunter Wilds

Trailer number three has been released at this years Gamescom for Monster Hunter Wilds. This trailer showcased the Scarlet Forest and a spider-inspired monster called Lala Barina. New gaming details and enemies can all be found in this new trailer.

Directive 8020

The next title in The Dark Pictures Anthology is set to arrive on the Playstation 5 in next year. This game set on a spaceship will have the crew hunted by a mimicking alien organism as they fight to survive and decide whether to return to Earth…saving themselves but possibly dooming the planet.

Infinity Nikki

Persona 3 Reload

Atlus has unveiled a new trailer for the upcoming expansion titled Episode Aigis. A familiar but formidable enemy arrives as an optional boss in this game; s Challenge Battle mode.

Marvel Rivals

Announced to officially launch on December 6th, 2024, this new trailer shows off intense battles with iconic characters like Captain America and the Winter Soldier. This 6v6 hero shooter has elements of Overwatch with a Marvel Universe twist of course and is currently in the Closed Beta testing period.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle

Part of the multi-platform strategy by Microsoft and Bethesda, the exciting release of this Indiana Jones adventure can now be enjoyed by those on Playstation 5 in early 2025. This trailer features new gameplay and various action and puzzle solving scenes from Dr Jones.

Floatopia

Step into the cutesy and whimsical world of toys, superpowers and floating islands in NetEase Games free-to-play life simulation game Floatopia. Releasing early 2025 onto Playstation 5, this game will allow players to enjoy a carefree time full of daydreams and relaxation.

Unknown 9: Awakening

Playstation players only need to wait less than two months for this new action adventure game to arrive on their consoles. Currently available for pre-order with three separate editions, this game will release October 18th ,2024 and will have you harness powers from different realms to protect humanity.

The First Berserker: Khazan

This single-player hardcore action RPG will be released at some point in early 2025 and will feature a beta test from October 11th to 20th, which can be signed up for here. From the universe of Dungeon & Fighter with the high-energy action of old-school brawlers intertwined with classic RPG elements.

Fatal Fury City of the Wolves

April 24th, 2025 is set to be the release date for this new game in the classic fighting game series that hasn’t been seen since 1999. This series will be returning with 3D models and massively updated graphics. This part of the show also featured a character trailer for Mai Shiranui, one of the upcoming characters…one must assume this won’t be the only character trailer for this game.

Civilization VII

A full 25-minute gameplay reveal trailer was launched at the Gamescom event, for this new and improved title in the ever-popular history based tactical game. This game will allow for players to mix and match certain civilizations with different historical leaders.

Dying Light: The Beast

A brand-new standalone title in this parkour infused zombie series from Techland. No release date has been revealed but it has been revealed that players can come into game with no knowledge of the previous games and those who own the Ultimate Edition of Dying Light 2 will get the game absolutely free.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance II

Warhorse Studios released a new trailer for this hardcore medieval epic set in 15th century Bohemia. The game is a follow on from the first title and sees previous protagonist Henry continue his quest to avenge his parents death, realise his true heritage and save the land in which he lives.

Goat Simulator Remastered

And finally, this triple A title has been unveiled by Coffee Stain Studios. This frankly hilarious trailer doesn’t reveal what game it is for straight away before showing that the rumours were true and the original Goat Simulator game is getting a full remaster. Set to be released some point this year, players can once again cause chaos in GoatVille.
