Genshin Impact has gained an enormous roster of playable characters throughout the years. A lot of units have seen some ups and downs, but while they might not be fit for the current game’s meta, they still have their fans.
Fortunately, with the newly released Envisaged Echoes set of challenges, dedicated fans can give some older characters a little bit of love. Finishing these challenges will award the respective character’s Echo, a special cosmetic trailing effect. This guide will specifically tackle Diluc’s “Dark Side of Dawn” Envisaged Echoes challenge.
How to Unlock Envisaged Echoes in Genshin Impact
The Envisaged Echoes are a series of extremely difficult challenges in the Imaginarium Theatre area. Players will have to select one character and meet some requirements to begin their challenge.
The requirements are as follows:
- Players must own the character in question.
- The character needs to be at Level 90.
- The character’s Friendship Level has to be 8 or higher.
- The player must have 2 Key of Echoes (which can be earned in the Imaginarium Theater)
Phase 1: Puzzle Phase
Diluc’s challenge comes in two phases: a puzzle phase and a combat phase.
The first phase will contain a puzzle consisting of five Pyro Monuments that need to be almost simultaneously lit up. This stage also has a special rule wherein Diluc will periodically regenerate energy every few seconds. This is key for the solution.
In order to clear the puzzle, the solution is quite simple, simply position yourself in a way wherein Diluc’s Ultimate ability will hit the Pyro Monuments in one swing. It’s challenging to hit all five at once. However, certain angles make it easy to hit at least four Pyro Monuments.
One such angle is getting close to the southern Pyro Monument and facing northwest. Using your Ultimate here will hit four Pyro Monuments. You can then quickly strike the last monument to your right with a normal attack or Elemental Skill, completing the challenge.
Phase 2: Combat Phase
The second phase is a very straightforward combat section. You have 70 seconds to defeat 10 enemies. Do take note that, unlike the regular Character Trials, the Envisaged Echoes challenges allow you to equip your own weapons and artifacts, so make sure to equip your Diluc accordingly.
The enemies will spawn in three waves, which consist of 4 Hilichurls and 1 Wooden Shieldwall Mitachurl in the first wave…2 Hilichurls and 1 Ice Shieldwall mitachurl in the second wave…and 2 Cryo Abyss Mages on the third and final wave.
Diluc is a great match against these enemies that appear because his great Pyro application easily breaks through their Dendro and Cryo shields. That said, these enemies deal a considerable amount of damage. Make sure to dodge any attacks that you can, as you won’t have any form of healing or shielding available.
Envisaged Echoes: Dark Side of Dawn Rewards
Successfully clearing the challenge will award you with Diluc’s Echo. It can be equipped via the Dressing Room button on Diluc’s character page by pressing R3. While it might not significantly impact gameplay, it’s still a nice little cosmetic to see on your Diluc.
