Sony Interactive Entertainment and developer Arrowhead Game Studios announced that their cooperative third-person shooter Helldivers II has sold over 12 million units as of May 5, 2024.
In a statement by Sony Interactive Entertainment interim CEO and chairman Hiroki Totoki, the game’s sales have now surpassed the record set by God of War Ragnarök in the same period after its release in 2022.
Furthermore, the chairman also stated that the title has contributed significantly to sales and profit in the fourth quarter of Sony Group Corporation’s fiscal year.
Helldivers II is a TPS with online focus where players must make teams with up to three friends to face the threat of alien forces. Helldivers II is currently available on PlayStation 5.
