Honkai: Star Rail – Pull or Pass: Aglaea

The second half of Honkai: Star Rail’s 3.0 update has Aglaea the Goldweaver arriving to grace players with her presence. As the very first limited Remembrance character, she brings a lot of new and interesting mechanics to the game. Learn more about her lore, best equipment and teammates in the guide down below!

About Aglaea in Honkai: Star Rail

Aglaea is the leader of the Chrysos Heirs, a group of heroes fated to save Amphoreus from destruction. She bears the Coreflame of “Romance”, inheriting it from the Titan Mnestia. This incredible feat means that Aglaea is one of the few to people to ascend to the status of a demigod.

Despite what her Coreflame might suggest, Aglaea is far from a naive romantic. Her deep devotion to protecting Okhema and saving her world has led to her becoming a shrewd and decisive person. She’s always keenly aware of anything that can pose as a danger to her people, even opting to use her golden threads on the Trailblazer when she deemed it necessary.

Aglaea’s Stats

Aglaea is a speed-scaling Lightning DPS whose damage mainly comes from her Enhance Basic Attack and having the Garmentmaker present on the field. Furthermore, she’s a fairly skill point neutral character, only ever needing to use her skill to heal or resummon the Garmentmaker.

StatLevel 1Level 80
Base HP1691242
Base Attack95699
Base Defense66485
Base Speed102102

Upon unlocking all of her Traces, Aglaea gains a total of:

  • 22.4% Lightning DMG Boost
  • 12% Crit Rate
  • 12.5% Defense

Aglaea’s Memosprite

Being a Remembrance character, Aglaea summons a Memosprite, the Garmentmaker, in combat. The Garmentmaker is crucial to her damage output, so keeping it active for as long as possible is key to maximizing her DPS. Players should also remember that whenever that the Garmentmaker is summoned (through any means such as her Skill/Ultimate/Technique), it immediately takes action.

Memosprite Talent – A Body Brewed by Tears

When the Garmentmaker attacks enemies inflicted with “Seam Stitch”, it increases it’s Speed by 63.8 (at level 10). This Talent can stack up to 6 times, which means it can achieve a maximum Speed buff of 382.8, which is the biggest buffs to Speed seen in the game.

Memosprite Skill – Thorned Snare

Whenever the Garmentmaker takes action, it performs a Blast attack that deals Lightning damage to one main enemy and its adjacent units. The Garmentmaker will always prioritize attacking enemies with “Seam Stitch”.

Aglaea’s Skills

Talent – Rosy-Fingered

The Garmentmaker inherits 35% of Aglaea’s Speed and a percentage of her HP as well. While it is on the field, Aglaea’s attacks will inflict “Seam Stitch” on enemies, which deals additional damage based on Aglaea’s attack when she hits these enemies. Only 1 enemy can be afflicted with “Seam Stitch” at a time.

Skill – Rise, Exalted Renown

Aglaea summons the Garmentmaker. If the Garmentmaker is already on the field, then this skill heals it instead by 50% of its HP (at level 10).

Ultimate – Dance, Destined Weaveress

Aglaea’s ultimate comes at a rather high cost, needing around 350 energy but rightfully so as it’s incredibly powerful and has multiple effects:

  • If the Garmentmaker isn’t on the field, it is summoned.
    • If it is already on the field, it is healed to full health instead.
  • The Garmentmaker becomes immune to all Crown Control debuffs.
  • Aglaea enters the “Supreme Stance” state and immediately takes action.
    • While in this state, Aglaea cannot use her Skill and her Basic Attack is enhanced to “Slash by a Thousandfold Kiss.” This is a Joint Attack that counts as two units attacking simultaneously and will not recover Skill Points.
    • She also gains a Speed buff dependent on the Garmentmaker’s Memosprite Talent. For each stack that the Garmentmaker has, Aglaea gains a 15% Speed buff (maximum of 90% at level 10).
  • A countdown appears on the Action Order. Once the countdown is over, the Garmentmaker self-destructs and Aglaea exits the “Supreme Stance” state. Casting Aglaea’s Ultimate again will reset the countdown. Take note that Aglaea regenerates 20 Energy when her Garmentmaker disappears.

Aglaea’s playstyle revolves around keeping the Garmentmaker active at all times. And in order to do so, Aglaea needs to generate as much Energy as possible so that she can always ult and enter her “Supreme Stance” state before the countdown expires. Indefinitely resetting the countdown by always being able to ult is the key to maximizing Aglaea’s damage.

Technique – Meteoric Sunder

When hitting enemies with her Technique, Aglaea will regenerate 30 energy at the start of combat, instantly summons her Garmentmaker, deal 100% of her Attack as Lightning Damage to all enemies and applies “Seam Stitch” on one random enemy.

Ascension Passives

Ascension 2 – The Myopic’s Doom

Aglaea and the Garmentmaker’s ATK is buffed by 720% of Aglaea’s SPD plus 360% of Garmentmaker’s SPD while in the “Supreme Stance” state. This makes Speed an important stat for Aglaea as not only does it allow her to take more actions, but it also directly increases her damage.

Ascension 4 – Last Thread of Fate

When the Garmentmaker disappears, it will retain 1 stack of its SPD boost from its Memosprite Talent and will gain it back once it’s resummoned.

Ascension 6 – The Speeding Sol

If Aglaea’s Energy is below 50% at the start of combat, she regenerates her Energy up to 50%. This is a good quality of life addition as Aglaea’s ultimate has an incredibly high 350 cost and having to fully stack it up from zero at the start of every fight is going to be a hassle.

Hero of Triumphant Song

The new Hero set is ideal for Aglaea as it enhances her Speed, her Crit DMG and the Garmentmaker’s Crit DMG, greatly contributing to her DPS.

Due to receiving a good amount of Crit DMG from this set’s 4-pc effect and her optimal Planar Ornament, Aglaea will want a Crit Rate body piece. She’ll also want Speed boots as that helps to increase both her damage and the amount of turns she gets.

The Wondrous BananAmusement Park

The BananAmusement Park is the current best Planar Ornament set for DPS Remembrance units as it provides a considerable amount of Crit DMG especially when the owner has a summoned unit with them.

Aglaea will want a Lightning Damage Orb and an Energy Regen Rope. While most DPS characters usually want an ATK% Rope, an ERR Rope is invaluable to Aglaea due to the high cost of her ultimate.

Time Woven Into Gold

Being tailor-made for Aglaea, her signature Light Cone is her best-in-slot. It provides all the stats she wants, including a flat boost to her base Speed, a 36% increase in Crit DMG, and a 36% buff to Basic Attack DMG (when fully stacked at S1).

Geniuses’ Greetings

Geniuses’ Greetings is a decent 4-star option for Aglaea due to its Basic Attack DMG buff after using her ult. Do take note however, that the buff only lasts for 3 turns. With how frequent Aglaea attacks, the buff might have expired before she deals the rest of her attacks.

Reminiscence

Despite being only a 3-star Light Cone, Reminiscence is a very viable weapon for Aglaea if you don’t have other options. It’s easy to attain its maximum Superimposition, meaning it can reach a significant damage buff of 48%.

Aglaea is capable of dealing quite a lot of damage when she has the right units supporting her. In order for her “Supreme Stance” state to always be active, she’ll want support units that provide Energy. Sunday is especially good with Aglaea as he provides energy, Crit stats and Action Advances for both her and her Garmentmaker.

Aglaea Hypercarry

Aglaea teams will mostly consist of support or sustain units.
An example team can look like: Aglaea – Remembrance MC – Sunday – Huohuo

Remembrance MC and Sunday both provide Crit DMG and Action Advance for Aglaea, while Sunday and Huohuo restore around 20% of Aglaea’s Energy by using their ults. This setup ensures that Aglaea will have enough Energy to use her ultimate again before her Supreme Stance countdown finishes, thereby resetting it. The only downside of this team is that it requires two premium units.

An alternative free-to-play friendly team can look like: Aglaea – Remembrance MC – Tingyun – Gallagher

Tingyun can provide damage buffs and some energy. Gallagher can be equipped with the “Quid Pro Quo” Light Cone, which also gives him a chance to regenerate energy for Aglaea when hers is below 50%.

Is Aglaea Worth Pulling For in Honkai: Star Rail?

While Aglaea is a great unit on her own, she requires a lot of energy to perform at her peak, and so she may end up feeling a bit lacking when played without energy providing supports such as Sunday, Huohuo and Tingyun.

If you have any of these units and are looking for a new Lightning DPS, then it is an easy decision to pull for Aglaea. Should you still wish to pull for her whilst not owning her best supports, then just be wary of her Energy needs and adjust accordingly.
