HoYoverse today announced during the Special Program that Honkai: Star Rail‘s Version 2.1, titled “Into the Yawning Chasm”, will arrive on March 27, 2024 on PlayStation 5.
This new update will introduce brand-new developments to the Penacony story, and as the game gears up for its one-year anniversary celebration, a series of exciting events will be held.
Upon logging in after the maintenance scheduled for the 27th, players can enjoy up to 20 Star Rail Special Passes, 1,600 Stellar Jades, and other exclusive rewards. Furthermore, players can travel to various historical cosmic journeys on a mysterious game board and relieve the moments from past trailblazing experiences with their friends in the Cosmodyssey event.
Additionally, three new characters will be joining the cast in Honkai: Star Rail. The first character is Aventurine, the senior executive of the IPC Strategic Investment Department. Aventurine’s unique Skill allows him to grant allies a stackable shield, which accumulates Blind Bet charges when attacked. When Blind Bet reaches a certain count, Aventurine will unleash a follow-up attack and re-stack this Shield on allies anew while performing the follow-up attack.
The second character is Acheron, the self-proclaimed Galaxy Ranger who the Trailblazer meets in Penacony. Acheron accumulates Slashed Dream charges every time she unleashes her Skill, or when any ally uses an ability to inflict a debuff on an enemy. When Slashed Dream recharges a designated amount of charges, Acheron can activate her Ultimate and deliver 4 hits against her enemies, with 3 of those hits targeting single targets and 1 hit damaging all of them.
And last, but not least, we have the security officer for the Bloodhound Family, Gallagher. Gallagher is also a reliable companion, for when he uses his Ultimate, he not only deals damage to all enemies but also inflicts special debuffs, allowing allies to restore health when they attack enemies inflicted with said debuff and improve combat endurance.
Acheron will make her debut on the first phase of Warp banners, alongside Gallagher as a 4-star unit and a separate reprint banner with Luocha. In the second half of Warp banners, Aventurine will be available, alongside a reprint for Jingliu.
