Making for a historic first, HoYoverse is making a 5-star playable character for free in its F2P turn-based RPG, Honkai: Star Rail—Dr. Ratio.
Players can have another playable character they could add to their roster as the 5-star Imaginary Hunter character becomes available to claim, without the need to spend a single Star Rail Pass.
To get Dr. Ratio, players—both new and old alike—need only to have access to the mail system. This means that the former needs to have at least progressed far enough into the game to claim the playable figure.
Upon meeting that requirement, the player will have to open the mail system in-game, which contains a new email. One of those emails will be coming from Dr. Ratio himself titled “Subscription Reply from Dr. Ratio”.
Open said email and the player will be presented with an automatic reply and a chance to add Dr. Ratio to the team by clicking on the “Claim” option within the email. Doing so will result in just that.
The limited-time event officially started back on January 16, 2024, which coincides with the Version 1.6 “Panta Rhei” Event Warp. But while there is no specific date just yet, players can recruit Dr. Ratio until only at the end of Honkai: Star Rail 2.1.
