Insomniac Games’ latest project, the highly-anticipated latest entry into the Spidey game universe, Spider-Man 2, is nearly upon us. But the game studio is warning against plausible spoilers that may come from the game weeks ahead of its release.
Technically, there has not been any major spoiler for the game recently. But the company is nevertheless acting against it. And the concern is not necessarily without its merit. Apart from the fact that some people are likely to get their hands on early review copies, the system’s broken retail release dates may be partly to blame.
When some people can get hands-on experience with the game ahead of others, it gets tempting for such players to not be emboldened to venture into spoiler territories. And this issue largely boils down to individual discretion.
Insomniac Games is not pushing for an iron-fisted approach to it, though. Rather, it is to the contrary. The game studio warns that the game is “PACKED with surprises” and is asking people to #BeGreaterTogether. That is, to “keep the adventure fresh for everyone!”
