Yesterday, as the final world premiere of the Game Awards, Sony Interactive Entertainment and developer Naughty Dog, the studio behind titles such as The Last of Us and Uncharted, have announced Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, a game directed by Neil Druckmann and one that has been in development since 2020. Unfortunately, a release date was not revealed, but it will be coming to PlayStation 5.
About Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet
Set thousands of years in the future, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet puts players into the role of Jordan A. Mun, a dangerous bounty hunter who ends up stranded on Sempiria, a distant planet whose communication with the outside universe went dark hundreds of years ago. Jordan will have to use all her skills and wits if she hopes to be the first person in over 600 years to leave its orbit.
According to Neil Druckmann, the game lives up to the Naughty Dog tradition of creating an emotional, character-driven epic journey, and that the studio’s narrative goals are rivaled only by our gameplay ambitions. “This will be the deepest gameplay in Naughty Dog’s history, taking our learnings from our previous franchises and pushing them beyond anything we’ve ever done before”, he stated in a press release.
