The director of the Pinocchio-inspired Souls-like game Lies of P, Ji Won Choi, has confirmed that the game is set for an expansion as well as a planned sequel.
In a roughly 9-minute video titled “Lies of P – Director’s Letter,” Choi first talked about the success of their brainchild project, citing a million copies sale. To thank the audience who supported the game, he spoke of gifts that were coming to the players. That is, in the form of community-led updates as well as in-game freebies.
Set to arrive this month, Lies of P’s next major patch will introduce balances to characters and weapons in-game. Additionally, some quality-of-life improvements will be added, too, which will make the game easier during the earlier parts.
But the main highlights of the video are the topic of the game’s developing DLC as well as a plan for a sequel.
“Our highest priority is developing the DLC and working on our sequel. The dev team is putting in significant effort, brainstorming, and exploring different aspects of the projects,” he said.
While the video did not show actual footage of the DLC, Choi instead showed a few artworks depicting what’s to come. One of the artworks displays a shipwreck while another is a largely black-and-white imagery of a factory.
“A lot awaits to unfold in the DLC. Let your imagination go wild and anticipate what’s to come,” said Choi.
