During their latest RGG Summit, SEGA and developer Ryu Ga Gotoku revealed the latest instalment in the series: Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii. It will be released on February 28th, 2025 for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
About Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii
Set half a year after the events of Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, the game follows Goro Majima, the once-feared “Mad Dog” of the yakuza world, as he washes ashore on a remote island with no memory of his past.
Joining forces with a local islander named Noah, Majima embarks on a quest to rediscover his identity while embroiling in a conflict involving pirates, criminals, and a legendary treasure.
Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii will also introduce a new, action-packed combat system that emphasises swordplay and naval battles. In addition to his signature Mad Dog style, Majima can also wield a cutlass and other pirate weapons using the new Sea Dog style. Players can switch between styles on the fly, allowing for various dynamic combat strategies.
As Majima and Noah explore Rich Island and the open sea, they’ll assemble a crew, upgrade their ship, and engage in thrilling real-time cannon battles against enemy pirate vessels. Boarding enemy ships will lead to intense crew-vs-crew brawls, reminiscent of the franchise’s signature street fights.
Players will get to explore all kinds of locations, from Rich Island and Nele Island or the gorgeous shores of Honolulu to the deadly arenas of “Madlantis”, Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii promises a lot in this initial trailer.
Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii Pre-Order and Collector’s Edition
Early pre-orders will reward players with Like a Dragon protagonist Ichiban Kasuga as a crew member, Nancy (a lobster) as backup crew, and two of Kasuga’s outfits for Majima to wear in-game.
