This morning, Marvelous USA and XSEED Games have recently announced a majorm organizational change. Starting from today, both publishers will now operate independently within the company, with Marvelous USA publishing Marvelous titles, and XSEED Games discovering and publishing third-party titles.
This means that future games under Marvelous’s own IPs, such as Rune Factory, Story of Seasons, Daemon x Machina, as well as first-party titles such as the upcoming Farmagia will all be published under Marvelous USA. The brand will also manage future arcade releases by the company in the west.
On the other hand, the XSEED brand will be destined for third-party licenses, with examples such as The Big Catch, Corpse Party II: Darkness Distortion, Moonlight Peaks, and more being given.
According to Marvelous, this change will strengthen the organization as it moves forward with “larger, more ambitious scope of development and budgets,” the western expansion of its arcade business, and the upcoming milestone anniversaries of the Story of Seasons and Rune Factory series.
It is unlikely that this change will affect their current game lineup, but we’ll keep you updated as more information comes in.
