No Rest for the Wicked is the new isometric ARPG game announced by Ori developers Moon Studios at The 2023 Game Awards.
Previously creating the popular and very pretty games Ori and the Blind Forest and Ori and the Will of the Wisps, Moon Studios is moving away from that kind of game.
No Rest for the Wicked although recognisable as a Moon Studios game as it appears to take place in a work of art. The developer calling card of the feeling of huge scale and verticality is present in the trailer.
The game takes place in the kingdom of Isola Sacra in the year 841. In a remarkable bit of bad luck, it’s king has passed away causing land-wide conflict right as a plague begins to sweep the land creating monsters.
You can fight through these horrors and armies alone or with up to three friends in online co-op. Even while in a game together you can either stick together to solve puzzles or go off on your own and explore the game world.
There are hidden treasures to discover, an abundance of quests and monsters to fight with a combat system that relies on practicing your skills and honing your timing.
No Rest for the Wicked is being published by Private Division, who have previously published games like the Kerbal Space Program, Hades and The Outer Worlds.
Early Access is planned to drop early in 2024 on PC with full release scheduled for PC, Playstation and Xbox after that.
More details on No Rest for the Wicked will seemingly be revealed on March 1st in a digital showcase known as ‘Wicked Inside on Twitch and Youtube.
