Sony has recently unveiled its latest financial results report for the fiscal quarter ended June 30, 2024.
In this report, it was revealed that the PlayStation 5 has shipped 61.8 million units worldwide. A total of 2.4 million PlayStation 5 units were shipped during the three months ended June 30, 2024, which is 900,000 lower when compared to the same period in the last fiscal year.
Additionally, it is estimated that there are 116 million monthly active users on PlayStation Network as of June 30, 2024, a 8 million increase when compared to the 108 million active users during the same period the previous fiscal year.
In the software segment, PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 software sold a combined amount of 53.6 million units during the three months ended June 30, 2024, a 2.9 million decrease from the same period of the previous fiscal year.
Of those 53.6 million units, 80% of those sales were full game software digital downloads, a 8% increase from last fiscal year. Furthermore, 6 million of those units are first-party titles.
