Sony has recently unveiled its latest financial results report for the fiscal quarter ended December 30, 2024.
In this report, it was revealed that the PlayStation 5 has shipped 75 million units worldwide. This means that, compared to the previous June report, 9.5 million PlayStation 5 units were shipped, which is up 1.3 million from the same period of the previous fiscal year.
Additionally, it is estimated that there are 129 million monthly active users on PlayStation Network as of December 31, 2024, which is up six million from the 123 million active users during the same period the previous fiscal year.
In the software segment, PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 software sold a combined amount of 95.9 million units during the three months ended December 31, 2024, which is up 6.2 million from the 89.7 million software sold during the same period the previous fiscal year.
Out of those, 11.6 million units were first-party titles, which is down 4.6 million when compared to the 16.2 million units sold during the same period the previous fiscal year. 74% of software sales were full game software digital downloads, which is down 3% from the same period the previous fiscal year.
