Sony has revealed their plans for the August additions to the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog. In a new blog post, the company announced multiple games will now be available for subscribers to Extra and Premium.
Firstly, the PS4 and PS5 categories, which Extra and Premium subscribers can access will now include the action RPG The Witcher 3. Other relevant additions are monster-hunting Wild Hearts, indie creepy cult simulator Cult of the Lamb, and multiple Sword Art Online RPGs.
Premium subscribers will also have access to the PSVR2 game Vacation Simulator and the classic Timesplitters series. Finally, a streaming-only version of Sword Art Online: Lost Song (PS4) will also be a part of the package for Premium.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt (PS4, PS5)
As the mercenary Geralt of Rivia, it’s up to you to search for Ciri, the child of prophecy, in a war-torn world. The game gets a ton of praise for its vast open world and epic story, and the Wild Hunt edition adds even more content to the base game.
Wild Hearts Standard Edition (PS5)
Wild Hearts is Koei Tecmo’s latest take on a graphically demanding monster hunting experience in feudal Japan. The company had already explored a similar concept in Toukiden but this entry should offer vast areas to explore and seamless co-op.
Cult of the Lamb (PS4, PS5)
As a possessed lamb, it’s your job to repay a life debt by creating a cult to your savior. In a land full of false prophets, you must spread the word, seek glory and punish the unfaithful. Besides the simulation aspect, the game includes battles against hordes in a randomly generated world.
Ride 5 (PS5)
A motorcycle racing game with over 200 bikes from famous brands and 35 tracks. The game focuses on the realistic simulation of riding a bike at full speed.
Watch Dogs 2 (PS4)
A classic Ubisoft open world game in which players assume the role of a hacker. As Marcus Holloway, it’s up to you to make history by manipulating the system and taking down ctOS 2.0. The game is coming back to PlayStation Plus, as it left back in September.
Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker (PS4)
Another returning game is Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker. This 4 vs 4 arena fighter includes many characters from the famous manga and anime series. The online aspect is the bread-and-butter of the experience.
Sword Art Online: Last Recollection (PS4, PS5)
Last Recollection is the latest RPG in the Sword Art Online series before the upcoming Fractured Daydream. Last Recollection includes the biggest cast of playable characters from the series so far.
Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris (PS4)
A game adaption of the Alicization arc in Sword Art Online. With dynamic action battles, players have to explore the Underworld.
Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet (PS4)
This Sword Art Online action RPG adapts the world of Gun Gale Online and presents an original story. The gameplay features third-person shooting due to the nature of the world it adapts.
Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization (PS4)
Hollow Realization is an action RPG that came out on PS4 and Vita in 2016. The game follows up after Hollow Fragment and Lost Song, updating the gameplay elements to a party of four characters that can be customized.
Vacation Simulator (PSVR, PSVR2) – Premium-Only
A VR game by the devs of Job Simulator. Players will be able to explore an island resort with various activities for relaxing in a beach, forest or snow-covered mountain.
Timesplitters Series (PS4, PS5) – Premium-Only
The classic Timesplitters and its sequels TimeSplitters 2 and TimeSplitters: Future Perfect will now be playable on PS4 and PS5. The first-person shooters originally came out on PS2.
Sword Art Online: Lost Song (PS4) – Premium-Only, Streaming-Only
A streaming version of the action RPG is coming to PlayStation Plus for premium members. In the game, we can explore the world of ALfheim Online and enjoy Aerial Battles. The Plus edition comes from the PS3 release despite the fact there’s a native PS4 edition.
