Players who are looking to experience a revolution in gaming should look forward to Sony’s cloud streaming service as it arrives on the PlayStation 5 later this month, per PlayStation Blog.
With the launch of the cloud streaming services, PS Plus subscribers will be able to play PS5 titles within the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog and Game Trials, including PS5 titles they already own as PlayStation Plus Premium members.
Set to go live on October 30 in North America, the offer is exclusive to PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers whose subscription costs $18 per month (or $160 per year).
Leveraging on the same technology that enabled players to stream games from consoles to smartphones or PCs, or remote play, cloud streaming allows players to play games on their PS5 directly from Sony’s servers.
Currently, only the following titles support cloud streaming, but more will be added in the future:
- Horizon Forbidden West
- Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales
- Mortal Kombat 11
- Ghost of Tsushima
- Genshin Impact
- Saints Row IV
- Dead Island 2
- Resident Evil 4
- Fall Guys
- Fortnite
Meanwhile, Game Trials allows streaming for the following titles:
- The Calisto Protocol
- The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
- Hogwarts Legacy
Taking advantage of the PlayStation 5’s powerful hardware, players can stream in either 720p, 1080p, 1440p, or 4K. The experience also runs at a smooth 60 FPS and has HDR support.
