Developer Nightdive Studios has announced that a remastered version of the 1995 first-person shooter PO’ed, will launch on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 on May 16, 2024. The game will cost $19.99.
PO’ed was a first-person shooter originally released for the venerable 3DO Interactive Multiplayer. The story follows a chef attempting to escape a hostile, alien world. A PlayStation 1 port was published later in May 1996.
PO’ed Definitive Edition features a total of 25 spectacular 3D environments while battling vicious alien creatures. Select from a vast arsenal of weapons, including the Power Drill and the Meat Seeker.
This Definitive Edition includes a whole slew of quality-of-life features to enhance the gameplay and fix bugs that were present in the original game. However, according to the developer, you can “undo” those fixes through toggles, to recreate the experience as it was on the 3DO.
Furthermore, this version also supports widescreen modes with properly adjusted HUD, with an achievement system. PO’ed: Definitive Edition can also be played with enhanced controls, anti aliasing and increased framerate.
