PowerWash Simulator is set to bring everyone’s favourite ogre to its cleaning adventures with a newly announced paid DLC. In a collaboration with DreamWorks, players will soon have the chance to clean up several iconic locations from the Shrek franchise, including the titular ogre’s swampy abode.
This isn’t the first time FuturLab’s Unity-powered title has ventured into the world of film and gaming franchises. PowerWash Simulator has previously delighted fans with content packs featuring settings from Back to the Future, Warhammer 40,000, and most recently, Alice in Wonderland.
The Shrek Special Pack will offer five fantastical maps, with Shrek’s Swamp and the Dragon’s Lair being the first two confirmed locations. To help you tackle these messy missions, the DLC will also include a special suit of plate armor, complete with a sword-themed power washer.
FuturLab has a history of providing both paid and free expansions for PowerWash Simulator. Notably, the Tomb Raider DLC was released as a free update, and the recent ‘Washer-versary’ update gave players access to plenty of additional free cleaning content based on community suggestions.
While the latest Nintendo Direct didn’t reveal a specific release date for the Shrek DLC, the expansion’s trailer hinted that it will arrive “in the not too far, far away future.” Pricing details were also withheld, but based on previous collaborations like Alice in Wonderland, Back to the Future, and Warhammer 40,000, which each launched at $7.99/£6.49, fans can likely expect a similar cost.
