Arc System Works has shared the opening video for River City Saga: Three Kingdoms Next. The sequel to 2022’s Kunio-kun rendition of the Romance of the Three Kingdoms is coming worldwide to PS4.
River City Saga, also known as Kunio-Kun in Japan, is a traditional beat’em up franchise. With the Three Kingdoms games, the game takes place in Ancient China instead of modern Japan.
Next is a direct sequel to the previous game, which is also available on PS4. This time, Kunio (as Guan Yu) will have to handle various situations after the Battle of Red Cliffs. The game covers the Battle of Wuzhang Plains with a comic depiction of the events from the Romance of the Three Kingdoms.
