In an unexpected move, Atlus has announced that Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance’s release date has been moved…from June 21st, 2024 to June 14th, 2024.
Yeah you read that right. Instead of a delay, the game will be coming one week earlier than its original release date. While definitely a rare event in the gaming industry, it’s not completely unheard of. Now, as to what caused this sudden change? Who can say.
Shin Megami Tensei V came out on Nintendo Switch back in 2021. The title is the latest addition to the long-standing franchise of turn-based RPGs that spawned the Persona series, Digital Devil Saga, Soul Hackers, and more.
Vengeance is a new edition coming to PS4 and PS5. It expands the original game with a new storyline, a higher level cap of 150, and quality of life additions, such as an improved demon fusion system.
Players will be able to choose between the original story, Canon of Creation, and the new one, Canon of Vengeance at the beginning. Vengeance introduces the QadiĊĦtu, an enigmatic new group of demons and a new dungeon.
