Atlus has shared a new daily demon video for Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance. We get a closer look at Mephisto, one of the creatures in the game.
Vengeance is a new version of the latest mainline entry in the turn-based RPG series. Besides coming to PS4 and PS5 for the first time, it adds various elements and tweaks, such as the new “Vengeance” story route.
The player assumes the role of a young boy whose daily life is suddenly changed. Now in another world, he’s an easy prey for demons and ends up fusing with a mysterious individual to survive.
The result is that our protagonist becomes a half-human, half-demon called the Nahobino. Now he’ll have to look for a way back home and will end up figuring more about the truth behind everything.
Mephisto is a lv 79 demon of the Tyrant race. Though it’s part of the series since the NES Megami Tensei, the current art comes from Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse.
In the video we get to see Mephisto using strong spells with fire and dark alignments. Its default weakness is light.
The silhouette for the next daily demon seems to be for Kudlak. This vampire creature was part of multiple spin-offs in the franchise and wasn’t part of the base SMTV.
Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance comes to PS4 and PS5 on June 14, 2024.
