As part of the anniversary celebration for the Dragon Quest series, Square Enix has teased an HD-2D Dragon Quest game is coming to PlayStation 5, PC, Switch and Xbox.
Though the company shared no names, their social media post says “The legend of Erdrick draws near.” The first three games in the franchise go by the name of Erdrick trilogy, with the third game’s protagonist having that name.
Square Enix had already announced Dragon Quest III HD-2D as one of their upcoming titles back in 2021 when the series celebrated 35 years. As such, this is likely a tease for that game.

Back in 2021, the company had shared a Japanese trailer showing an early look at the game. Considering how long it has been, it’s likely to have had many updates, so the video may not reflect the quality of the final build. Even so, check out the video:
