In a message posted by her sister to her X account, it was announced that Mutsumi Inomata, who was known for her character design work in several games of the Tales of series, as well as a multitude of anime, has passed away on March 10th, 2024.
Mutsumi Inomata has worked on several Tales of games. According to her biography on MobyGames, she has worked on the Tales of Destiny duology, Tales of Eternia, Tales of Rebirth, Tales of the Tempest, Tales of Innocence, Tales of Hearts, Tales of Graces, the Tales of Xilia duology, Tales of Zestiria and Tales of Berseria.

Mutsumi Inomata has passed away on March 10th, 2024.
It all happened so suddenly…and I only have but a half-finished draft, that I’m sure she’s finishing up in heaven, surrounded by her beloved cats, and creating cute-eyed characters.
To everyone who supported her works, I would like to express my deepest gratitude, and I hope you’ll continue to appreciate her works.
A funeral was held in private with close relatives present. In accordance with her wishes, we will not be accepting offerings or flowers of any kind. Thank you for your understanding.
