April 23rd was a big day for indie game fans. Publisher wild productions hosted one of the most anticipated indie events of the year with Wired Direct 2024, filled with game reveals, deep dives, release date announcements, and more. In case you missed it, here’s the biggest PlayStation news from the livestream.
Gori: Cuddly Carnage
The first presentation on the evening was for Angry Demon Studios’ Gori:Cuddly Carnage. It sees you playing as the titular cat, Gori, as he fights replicant forces and evil toys. It’s hard to put in a box, but the main focus is fun through hack-and-slash and skateboard-based gameplay. From the gameplay to the visual presentation, there’s something for nearly everyone in this title. The first big announcement of the event was this game’s release date. Gori: Cuddly Carnage will release on August 29th on PS4 and PS5.
Karma: The Dark World
The second presentation was the reveal of the mysterious horror game Karma: Dark World from Pollard Studio. In Karma, a dark company known as Leviathan controls society. You play as an agent tasked with exploring people’s brains and deciphering their memories. As he drifts through these subconscious landscapes, he must wander between the realistic and abstract. All while simultaneously learning secrets held by Leviathan. It takes inspiration from “Twin Peaks”, “BioShock”, and even the book “1984”. Karma: The Dark World is set to be an engaging, psychedelic, and emotional trip of a game. It’s available to wishlist, and it’s coming to the PS5! A release date is yet to be announced.
Lumote and Bulwark: Falconeer Chronicles DLC’s
For fans of the 2020 3D platformer Lumote can expect a new update coming soon. This new update brings co-operative gameplay to the game. Wired also announced that it will be seeing a PS5 release. Tomas Sala’s Bulwark: Falconeer Chronicles is getting a new free DLC, as well. Titled Trade Tribute and Splinters, it brings several new additions to the game. There’s new changes to the navigational compass, as well as the ability to spend something called splinters on extra resource extractors. Also, new random diplomatic events will be introduced, along with the ability to turn factions into vassals, essentially turning them into your own. Although no date was given, it too, is coming soon.
