This morning, HoYoverse has recently unveiled the next version update for their urban fantasy ARPG Zenless Zone Zero on their Special Program.
The new Version 1.4, titled “A Storm of Falling Stars” will be released on December 18th for the PlayStation 5. This version update introduces a major overhaul of Main Story stages, significant updates to Hollow Zero, and two highly anticipated Agents, Hoshimi Miyabi and Asaba Harumasa.

After helping the Sons of Calydon with the Tour de Inferno, our “old friend” Perlman finally wakes up. The hidden truths and the Wise and Belle’s backstories will be revealed. Meanwhile, New Eridu Public Security is undergoing a leadership election.
As the truth comes to light and a new crisis emerges, Proxies will join forces with Section 6 to venture into the unknown Port Elpis, where all mysteries will be unveiled as the story reaches its finale.
Zenless Zone Zero Version 1.4’s Major Changes
The first major change in Version 1.4 are the redesigned Main Story stages from the Prologue to Chapter 3 that have been added to the HDD system. These new stages allow Players to dive directly into battles while commanding Eous to explore the Hollows.
In future updates to the Main Story, this new type of stage will be added, effectively replacing the TV stages. However, don’t fret, as you can still use the TV system as usual through a toggle in the chapter select menu.
The next major change is in regards to combat. Decibels will no longer be shared across the squad, allowing all squad members to unleash their stunning Ultimates in a row for even more spectacular battle scenes.
Lastly, the update also adds a Quick Sweep feature for Shiyu Defense challenges, along with other optimizations to streamline progression and character upgrades. Furthermore, all contracted Agents will now be playable in the city, and a new Quality Time Mode lets players stroll through New Eridu with their Agents.
Zenless Zone Zero Version 1.4’s Agents
Two renowned members of Section 6 will be unlocked simultaneously along with the S-Rank Bangboo Agent Gulliver.
The first is Hoshimi Miyabi, the youngest Void Hunter. She showcases her unmatched strength with her Ethereal-Slaying Katana – Tailless. As a Frost Anomaly Agent, Miyabi can surround enemies with Icefire, causing Frost Anomaly and triggering special effects. With swift movements and precise slashes, she accumulates Fallen Frost to unleash a powerful forward attack, dealing devastating Frost damage before elegantly sheathing her blade.
The next Agent is the Electric Agent Harumasa, who seamlessly switches between bow and blade, marks targets, and delivers unexpected strikes to enemies with active Electro Quivers. Players can also uncover Harumasa’s hidden past in his special Agent Story. Now, normally this is where I would say the order of the agents’ banners, but for Version 1.4, HoYoverse has decided to have both Agents’ banners and W-Engine channels available simultaneously.

That’s right! Players who reach Inter-Knot LV 8 on Zenless Zone Zero will be able to obtain Harumasa for free of charge! Furthermore, a level-up material kit will also be given. This kit contains enough materials to level up an agent to LV 40, skipping the early level grinds. Don’t miss out on this opportunity!
Zenless Zone Zero’s Hollow Zero Update
In version 1.4, Hollow Zero will undergo the major update, Shadows Lost, where players will plunge into fierce battles within the Lost Void, armed with additional support and equipment including weapons, Bangboo assist skill, and Resonia. Agents such as Miyabi, Ellen, Yanagi, and Billy will have the chance to showcase their exclusive Gear. Upon completing missions, Proxies receive new A-level Brawlerboo and other rewards.
Hollows remain fraught with danger, and Melinoe, the intricately complex new Hollow, is beckoning yours and Section 6’s exploration and support. Together with Eous, navigate puzzles and explore paths to lead the way. As they progress through these perilous terrains, Miyabi and Yanagi gradually release their full potential. Amid combat as allies, not only do Proxies gain access to the new W-Engine and plentiful rewards, but also, a bit more into the backstory of Section 6.
