Final Fantasy XIV To Receive Pricing Adjustments in North America

Today, Square Enix announced that starting from June 25, 2024, players who renew their subscription, or buy items on Final Fantasy XIV Online’s online store in North America will now be subject to paying sales taxes, should their state have any that apply for digital purchases.

This change will also apply to recurring subscriptions paid using credit cards, and even Crysta, and any subscription charges processed following the date will also be subject to applicable sales tax. Furthermore, the sales tax will change depending on the registered address, which you can change at any time through the Square Enix Account Management System.

This change comes shortly before the release of the latest expansion, Dawntrail, which will be coming to PS4 and PS5 on July 2, 2024.
